GUITAR CABASSE-BERNARD

Charles Nicolas BERNARD, Mirecourt 1799-1878, said CABASSE-BERNARD, adding the name of his wife, Jeanne CABASSE, according to regional tradition.

Iron mark inside: “CABASSE BERNARD à MIRECOURT”.

One-piece quilted maple back. Sides of the same species lined with ebony binding.

Spruce sounboard decorated with fine ebony and mother-of-pearl marquetry. Rose of the same decor. Easel plated with mother-of-pearl and carved at its ends with stylized foliage. Ebony veneered neck and peg. Elm case lined with velvet and silk.
