François GAVINIES (1683 – 1772) was “Juré Comptable” of the guild of the
musical instrument makers in Paris. (1762)
One piece back of almost plain wood, with original broken top.
The “C” ribs are originally made of two pieces of maple.
This instrument is in perfect condition. No visible crack on the table or the back.
Original fingerboard and tail piece. Also probably 3 pegs of the 5.
Length of the table: 33,5cm.
Total length: 63cm.
François GAVINIES, (Bordeaux c.1683 – Paris 1772) was chairman of the Musical Instrument Makers Guild in 1762.
